Learn 10x Faster (yes actually)

Our surf camps are designed to save you years of frustration trying to learn on your own. There are critical skills you need to learn early on in order to making surfing easier. If you learn these skills the wrong way, you will create bad habits that take years to erase. We short circuit these bad habits by making sure your early technique is sound. By the end of the weekend you can expect to be paddling into waves on your own, popping up successfully, and riding straight to shore. This may sound simple, but it’s 10 times easier with a coach! If you went out on your own over 2 days, you might successfully catch 5 waves. With a coach you can easily catch 50 or 70 waves in one weekend. If you start with a solid foundation, the rest of your journey will be smoother and faster.

Schedule

Our schedule is designed to maximize learning, with intentionally built in breaks and community time, which are all essential to the learning process. Did we mention how much fun you’ll have?

Friday 7 PM-8:15PM Online: Surfology 101 -Meet the group and your head coach. Get a full introduction to surfing and learn the essential out of water skills you need to start your journey to becoming a surfer.

Saturday 8AM-12PM at Nahant Beach, MA: When you arrive at the beach we will provide you with all of your surf gear for the weekend. You’ll break into your groups and surf 2 sessions in a small group of 3 with a world class coach. The first session will focus on popping up and paddling, fundamental skills for any surfer. The second session will build on the first one, introducing more complex skills around paddling and catching waves.

Saturday 12:30PM - 2PM @ a local restaurant or brewery: Apres Surf! - This is a great opportunity to meet everyone and reminisce about an amazing day. You’ll be full of adrenaline and super hungry from your surf sessions. This is a great time to get to know your coaches and other people at camp. Building community is part of our mission, and is also an essential part of the learning process. Research shows that when you learn a new skill in a supportive community, you’re far more likely to stick with that skill and go on to master it.

Sunday 8AM - 12PM @ Nahant Beach, MA: Day 2 is designed to build upon day 1, increasing your fundamental skill set. The goal is for you to be comfortable surfing waves under 3 feet. We will cover how to paddle for your own waves, pop up timing, wave selection and pulling off waves. If you are learning these quickly you might learn how to turn your board, or some more intermediate skills you need to continue your journey

Customer Reviews

Teresa Chappel:

“I signed up for Boston Surf Adventures weekend camp on a whim, and it was truly a great decision! Grant, who runs the camp, is a really kind person who is SO passionate about surfing. Our groups were small, and my coach, Christine, gave me a lot of great tips on how to better my form and was super supportive. Something that’s really amazing about this camp is that the coaches are really passionate about teaching people how to be self-sufficient surfers and feel comfortable to surf on their own. Our camp cohort has already made multiple plans to get together and surf! I have already recommended the camp to a number of my friends and could not stress enough how much joy it has brought me!”

Olivia Oksenhorn:

“If I could give Boston Surf Adventures 10 stars, I would. Grant + co are amazing instructors: insightful, encouraging, and SO knowledgeable. They’ll meet you where you are and never push you past your limits, but they will push you just enough that you’re guaranteed to learn the basics of surfing in a matter of days.

Surf Camp was a summer highlight, and I’d recommend that anyone looking to surf in the New England area come to Boston Surf Adventures.

I’ll definitely be back for more. Thanks again Boston Surf crew!”

Olivia Fong

“I had the most fun weekend at surf camp with Boston Surf Adventures! The coaches were encouraging and patient and gave targeted feedback, which created a really supportive learning environment. They were game to answer all of our surfing related questions and the small coach to student ratio allowed for us to catch waves pretty continuously. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking to try surfing or learn new skills”
